Taylor Acorn is exploring the reality that life never gets any easier on her new single, Growing Pains.
The artist is following up last year’s album Poster Child with a deluxe edition that’s out via Fearless on October 23, and this song is set to appear on it.
“Growing Pains is a favorite of mine. I think it’s such a universal feeling to want to grow up and grow out of the feelings we feel when we are young. I remember thinking to myself, ‘Man I can’t wait to be an adult to never have to feel like this,’ whenever it came to loss, the way I saw myself in the mirror, relationships, school, and so on – but oh boy was I so wrong,” shares Taylor.
“I love my life and I feel so grateful for where I stand NOW, but it has been so far from a walk in the park. Life is hard. The older you get the shorter the days are, the less time you have, and I feel like I’ve extended myself in so many ways for so many years it feels impossible sometimes to keep my head above water and having to be so present online can feel so dehumanizing. I am human though, we all are, we all have bad days and struggle and I think that’s a beautiful thing. Without that you simply cannot grow.”
