U2 are to releaseCarnaval De Luz– their 16th studio album and the first album of new material from the band in nine years. Carnaval De Luz is released on November 13 by Island. You can hear abrand new tracktitled“Silencio” below.
Produced by Jacknife Lee, Carnaval De Luz follows two surprise-released six-track EPs earlier this year –Days Of AshandEaster Lily – as well as “Street Of Dreams”, the first taster from this new album.
The album, released in the band’s 50th year, also sees the band joined by a number of collaborators, including Brian Eno– co-writing and synthesizers on “Go (Carnaval De Luz)”, “The Greatest Show On Earth” and “Can’t Stop Us Now” –Martin Garrix(co-writing on “Glorify”),Daniel Lanois(pedal steel on “Torn”) and Dolly Parton, who duets on “Torn”, her last recorded vocal performance. There is also additional production fromRyan Tedderon “Silencio”.
