Rising singer songwriter Essosa steps into her next chapter with the announcement of her six track EP Crush!, arriving May 1 via UnitedMasters. Leading the release is her new single “He’s Not All That,” a soft, self aware take on romanticising the wrong person at the wrong time.

Set against light, airy production, the track captures the emotional comedown that follows a late night decision. Essosa leans into that moment of clarity when the haze lifts and you realise it was never that serious, balancing vulnerability with a quiet sense of humour.

The single offers another glimpse into Crush!, a project rooted in glossy sonics and playful storytelling. Featuring production from jkarri and WAVSDNTDIE, the EP moves through the energy of nights out, from getting ready with friends to dancefloor highs and after party haze. It is nostalgic, flirtatious and full of fleeting moments of connection.

Following earlier release “Touch bby,” Essosa continues to blend sultry R&B with dance leaning pop, nodding to iconic influences while keeping her sound current.

Her rise has been hard to ignore, from viral breakout “Waste My Time” to major co-signs and international touring. With a global upbringing and roots in gospel, there is a depth behind the sweetness that keeps listeners locked in.

With Crush! on the horizon and her upcoming video podcast Essie’s Hotline, Essosa is not just building momentum, she is shaping a world of her own.
