Texas country artist Tristan Roberson releases Down For The Ride, the title track from his sophomore album; fiddle, acoustic and electric guitars, punchy bass, and driving drums inside a bigger, radio-ready frame.
Upbeat and immediate, but the story underneath is less certain. Roberson explains:
It’s the title track to my sophomore album. I wrote or co-wrote all the songs on the album. It’s about falling in love with a girl even though it might be a bad idea.
That tension gives the track its centre: knowing the warning signs, ignoring them anyway and enjoying the momentum while it lasts.
At 18, Roberson has passed 20 million streams, landed four Texas radio No. 1s and earned support from major Spotify country playlists.
Written largely by Roberson, the forthcoming album continues his balance of classic Texas-country influences and contemporary production, shaped by artists ranging from George Strait and Alan Jackson to Parker McCollum and Cody Johnson.
Down For The Ride does not overthink the romantic gamble. It hits the road, turns the volume up and accepts that the destination could get messy.
