Ahead of her third studio album Mud, Remi Wolf shares one of its most vulnerable moments with new single “I Won’t Cry”.
Tender, yearning and increasingly dramatic, the track finds Wolf wrestling with the aftermath of a former love, beginning in restrained territory before building towards a heart-wrenching crescendo. Her powerhouse vocals carry the emotion as she asks the painful question, “Why don’t you want me back?”
Written during one of the earliest sessions for Mud in Big Bear, Wolf says the song immediately felt special. “It’s sad and yearning and dramatic and kind of pathetic in a way that I really love,” she explains. “It’s genuinely one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”
