Following the release of her debut EP Indigo, Vibrant and New and a sold out first UK headline tour, rising singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist Pixie McCann returns with her explosive new single ‘It’s Pixie’. Moving away from the dreamier textures of her earlier material, the track introduces a rawer, more energetic side to the Galway influenced artist, pairing restless production with her signature ethereal vocals.
Exploring the lengths we go to in search of validation, Pixie explains: “I wrote ‘It’s Pixie’ about the person, or people, I am when dating someone who doesn’t think I’m enough. The things I’d do, the gross lengths I’d go to, to be wanted.”
The release follows a breakthrough year that has seen Pixie earn BBC Radio 1 support, recognition as a Spotify RADAR artist and a coveted performance at All Points East alongside Lorde. Her debut EP, created with producer Joel Pott, introduced listeners to her distinctive blend of vulnerability, haunting melodies and unconventional songwriting, helping her amass over 12 million Spotify streams.
Having sold out every date of her October headline tour, including London’s Hoxton Hall, Pixie will continue her impressive rise this November, joining Paris Paloma across the UK and Europe on The Fatal Flaw Tour. With ‘It’s Pixie’, she delivers another compelling glimpse into her evolving sound, proving that her self-described “weird music for weird girls” is finding an increasingly enthusiastic audience.
