London-based singer-songwriter Jack Browning will release his sophomore album, Painted Skies, on September 16th via Too Fine Records. The twelve-song collection follows Browning’s signing to the Nashville label earlier this year and arrives after two years of growing momentum on both sides of the Atlantic. Produced by Browning and Dan Lucas and recorded at The Joplin House in Kent, it deliberately allows the songs to retain the immediacy and character of the room in which they were recorded.

Outside of music, Browning has also earned recognition as a fine artist. His paintings have been exhibited internationally, including at the Taos Art Museum Summer Gala, exhibitions in Texas, and Mark Maggiori’s Far West Show, while his artwork has also been commissioned by Americana artist The White Buffalo. Browning’s debut album, Red Eye Radio, became a word-of-mouth breakthrough, followed by a heavy run of touring, including Kentucky to close out a night at Healing Appalachia, appearing alongside Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, and Lukas Nelson.

Browning comments, “I am so very proud of what we achieved in creating this record, and every song is as heartfelt as anything you’ve heard from me in the past. Whilst my debut record turned into a ‘concept album’ in a lot of ways, this one has a vein of storytelling right the way through, and details the trials and tribulations of my burgeoning career these last few years, but with one eye firmly on the future and what that might hold.”

Browning plays Country Calling in Chelmsford on August 16th and the British Country Music Festival in Blackpool on September 5th. Listen out for him on the Americana UK Podcast in the coming weeks – in the meantime the album can be pre-ordered here.
