Hailing from Arzachena, Italy, indie-folk artist Maria Grazia Altea recently revealed a breathtaking new folk track titled “Black Out”. The new single is her third of the year and is also her first English-speaking track since 2025’s “Don’t Do Don’t Say”.

One thing that is evident from the get-go is how striking her vocals are and how moody it is, with a cinematic undertone that almost beckons you forward, leaving you gripped from the start.
It reminds me of those tracks by Björk in the late 90s and early 2000s. It is very vocally driven, with a stripped-back and cinematic background for her vocals to shine on. One thing I loved about this is how it blends soft rock sensibilities and storytelling to create a track that feels way longer than 2 minutes 51 seconds. It feels like you are listening to a timeless classic.
This is by far one of the most emotive and striking tracks I have heard in the last month.
