Written in snatches of time in their Bristol hometown, recorded in London’s 5dB Studios and produced bySean Oakley (Georgia, Scaler, Sorry), who flew in from LA especially for the project,‘Hoping as a Coping Mechanism’is a strong display of their talents. In their own words, it’s “more focussed, paced and thought-out”, but over 13 tracks that explore the horrors of the outside world and the internal minefield of the brain, MOULD’s debut also hits with the thrills of a brilliant live band who’ve distilled that energy to tape and are firmly cementing themselves at the forefront of the indie landscape.

Speaking ahead of their LP release, vocalist/guitaristJoe Sherrinadded: “We are beyond excited to get this album out into the world. The collective sum of our combined beans condensed into half an hour of unrelenting bangers. Bangers ahoy. Regardless of genre or style though, ultimately we’re just trying to write good songs, ones we’d wanna listen to ourselves. And this is our strongest batch to date. Until the next album of course.
