Writer and producer Francesca Mepham presents a special rehearsed reading of her new dark romantic comedy ghost story, Squeak, at the Drayton Arms Theatre, Kensington, on Tuesday 29 September at 7.30pm.
Who falls down the stairs whilst carrying their hamster’s cage? Lianne.
Unfortunately for her, that’s only the beginning of her problems.
Now dead, Lianne watches helplessly as her boyfriend Dan struggles to cope with life after her sudden death. What frustrates her most is that Dan appears to be spending more time with Squeak, their beloved hamster, than he is mourning her.
Lianne is angry.
Dan is just angry.
Mandy and Roger mean well.
And Squeak is romantic, tragic and kind of cute.
Blending humour, heartbreak and the supernatural, Squeak is a moving and unexpected new play from writer-producerFrancesca Mepham, which manages to find comedy amid tragedy, as it explores complex triangle of grief, loss and love.
