Independent producer, songwriter and DJ Jimmy Hits is riding a fast-growing viral breakthrough with I Don’t Care / Je M’en Fous.

Built around rejection, rebellion and refusing to be underestimated, the bilingual dance track has generated millions of organic Instagram views and earned Jimmy recognition as one of Beatport’s Best New Independent Artists of May 2026.

His independent catalogue has already charted on iTunes Dance in 23 countries, landed in Diplo’s Revolution Top 20 and secured sync placements with Caesars Entertainment.

With new music, an expanding team and a national tour ahead, Jimmy Hits speaks to FM PRO TECH about viral growth, creative control and building a wider independent system around content, streaming and live performance.

Starting as a DJ, you get a feel for what keeps the dance floor going, and it naturally comes out when I’m producing.

Q1. I Don’t Care / Je M’en Fous has moved fast online, with millions of organic Instagram views. What do you think made this track connect so quickly?

I think the concept of rebellion, being the underdog and being doubted, really hit a core with everyone. Combined with the unhinged dolls, it was a perfect viral moment.

Q2. The song flips between English and French with a very direct title. What did that phrase unlock for you creatively?

Honestly, I wrote the song because I was being rejected by labels. It was a way for me to deal with that rejection, I had no idea it would resonate so much with everyone.

Q3. You have built this momentum independently. What has staying independent taught you about control, pressure, and timing?

The pressure is real, but I enjoy the control and the power to express myself without anyone telling me how to feel. I’m excited for the next songs to drop.

Q4. Before this breakthrough, your music had already charted on iTunes Dance in 23 countries and landed in Diplo’s Revolution Top 20. Did those earlier wins change the way you approached this release?

I think there’s no real secret recipe besides getting music out and never quitting. It seems to be working at the moment.

Q5. FM PRO TECH Q: When a track starts moving organically on Instagram, how do you decide what to amplify without killing the natural energy that made it work

I’ve gone viral before, so I just kept the momentum going. When someone sees something they like, they want to click and see more, so I created that, worked hard, and kept it creative.

Q6. Your sound moves across electronic, dance, pop, and club spaces. How do you keep that genre-blurring approach focused rather than scattered?

I just write what I’m feeling, which is mainly house. I’m working on combining all the sounds right now.

Q7. You have performed everywhere from Dirtybird Campout to Marquee Sydney and HYDE Bellagio. How has the live environment shaped the kind of records you want to make?

Starting as a DJ, you get a feel for what keeps the dance floor going, and it naturally comes out when I’m producing.

Q8. You were previously part of Super Square, with music connected to the Mortal Kombat franchise. What did that chapter teach you about building music that can live beyond standard streaming platforms?

You don’t have to be perfect, but you have to have really high standards. The best way to maintain those standards is to be consistent. Then you can deliver both quality and quantity.

Q9. With labels, promoters, and creators now paying closer attention, how are you filtering opportunity from noise?

I’m just staying in my own lane and staying focused on providing the best content for my fans. The rest will follow.

Q10. FM PRO TECH Q: As you move toward new music and a national tour, how are you connecting release strategy, short-form content, streaming data, and live shows into one bigger independent system?

I’m currently in Madrid working on that very system. I want to keep releasing and never take my foot off the pedal, and my team is building out, which will help a ton.
