Portsmouth’s indie genre film festival celebrating horror, sci-fi, comedy & thrillers from filmmakers across the UK and worldwide.

Pompeywood Genre Film Festival is a celebration of independent genre filmmaking, bringing filmmakers and audiences together in Portsmouth for a packed programme of horror, sci-fi, thriller, comedy and other genre films.

The festival features our short film competition, showcasing independent filmmakers from across the UK and beyond, followed by an exciting awards ceremony celebrating the filmmakers and films selected for the programme. Alongside the competition, we screen a selection of special feature films, offering audiences the chance to discover unique independent and genre cinema, with Q&As accompanying selected feature screenings and providing an opportunity to hear directly from the filmmakers. This years special screenings are Bazz Hunchers “45”, Annabella Richs “Death of Us” and Sam Mason Bells “The Sessions”.

The festival is also a great opportunity to meet and network with other filmmakers, actors, producers and film fans, helping build connections and strengthen the independent film community.

Refreshments will be available throughout the event, so come along, watch some great films, meet fellow filmmakers and celebrate independent genre cinema with us.

You can find out more and purchase tickets for the event here
