British alternative rock four-piece Ruled By Raptors (who we most recently spoke to at Bloodstock last year) have officially announced the upcoming release of their brand-new mini-album, A Shadow That Never Moves, scheduled to land on Friday 2nd October 2026. To mark the announcement, the band has unleashed the record’s explosive first single, “Sleep Dep.,” alongside a striking new music video.

Formed in 2019, the outfit – comprising vocalist/guitarist Chris Bradley, guitarist Matt Dewar, bassist Nick Oliver, and drummer Will Robson – has steadily carved out a powerful reputation across the UK underground. Having already secured coveted live spots at Slam Dunk and Bloodstock Festival alongside support from Kerrang! Radio and BBC Introducing, the upcoming eight-track collection marks a definitive step into heavier, more expansive territory. The project carefully balances high-octane riffs, intricate progressive structures, and deeply melodic vocals.

The record’s sonic evolution was born from an extended, collaborative studio journey that pushed the band’s boundaries. “‘Sleep Dep.’ sets the tone for the new release, capturing our heavier, more emotionally charged direction,” explains frontman Chris Bradley. “We originally planned to quickly follow up our previous material, but it expanded to eight songs when we recorded with Sam Cook. After unexpected delays, including family illness, we paused before returning with Matt mixing and Bob Cooper mastering. We pushed the sound further in every direction, aiming to stay true to ourselves without limiting where we can go.”
