London jazz fusion and neo-soul four piece NEOTERYC introduce their debut EP DREAMS, a warm, groove rich project built around live musicianship, collaboration and the natural chemistry between the band.
Blending jazz fusion, neo-soul and R&B with intricate harmonies and fluid improvisation, DREAMS explores love, growth, resilience and the pursuit of purpose. Opener ‘April Mornings’ sets the tone beautifully, originating from a melody keyboardist Ejiro Lennox heard in a dream, while ‘Keep Your Head Up To The Sky’ featuring Peace Oluwatobi turns soulful instrumentation towards hope and perseverance. ‘Grow’ with Zamar Eden reflects on the challenges that come with personal development, before ‘Still Rolling’, featuring Dylan Williams and Mark Asari, injects a livelier energy as NEOTERYC celebrate ambition and the determination to keep pushing forward. Closing track ‘Far Away’ with Maleík Loveridge brings things down into a more reflective space, finding peace and acceptance amid heartbreak and change.
Featuring Nehemiah Ibe, Ejiro Lennox, Ayodele Ojo and Immanuel Simelane, NEOTERYC have already established themselves on London’s live circuit, including a sold out headline show at Camden Assembly and work alongside artists including Wizkid and Sinach. Following their 2022 instrumental single ‘Sweetspot’, DREAMS feels like a natural next step, capturing a band whose greatest strength lies in musicians feeding off one another and allowing soul, groove and instinct to lead the way.
