Lakeside X’s “Factory Flowers” is the new track from the band based in Prague, Czechia. The new single is the first release from the outfit since the 2023 album “Love Disappears (Remixes)”, and from the get-go, this is a fantastic slice of dark pop.

… abrooding, industrial-tinged dark pop hit that drags you straight into Lakeside X’s shadowy world.

Vocally, it reminds me a lot of darkwave, mixed with the crunching guitar riffs of electro-pop bands from the mid-2000s. It has a fantastic industrial underbelly, with an almost Pendulum-sounding bassline wrapped around it.

It is the kind of track that works as a gateway into their sound, because their previous releases sit in a similar amalgamation of genres, such as my personal favourite, the track “Rising”. So if you are looking for a moody dark pop band with plenty of emotional weight behind their music, then be sure to dive into Lakeside X’s catalogue.
