Coming out of the vibrant music scene down in London is Father Chocolate, and their new track “Villains” has recently been released. It sounds just as vibrant as the scene they are in. It is a hauntingly gorgeous track with plenty of atmosphere, laced with moody guitar-driven sounds that reminisce echoes of surf and dream pop alike.

This, to me, sounds like one of those absolute underground gems that you’d find on SoundCloud back in the early 2010s. It’s got so much charm about it that I instantly headed to their main Spotify page to line up a few of their previous songs. By the halfway point of this song I knew I was in for the long haul. It was addictive, it was smooth, and it was sensual. Everything I want in a slow jam, this has it.
The production values in this are also rather delightful. If you are the kind of person that can appreciate a well-produced track, then this is going to be at the top of your list when you’re looking for new tunes.
If you like vulnerable music with dark and haunting aspects to it, with a lick of surf pop, then this is something you will be playing on loop.
