Describing herself as a “happy girl making sad music”, Saskia draws influence from the likes of James Blake, Radiohead, Sampha, Yebba and Massive Attack, building a sound rooted in atmospheric electronic soul and experimental R&B. Following her debut EP ‘The Noise’, support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, and her vocals being sampled on Don Toliver’s ‘Secondhand’, the recent Black Butter signee is now pushing into fresh sonic territory.
Already a standout during her debut show at Servant Jazz Quarters earlier this summer, ‘sickofmyself’ offers another glimpse at Saskia’s evolving direction, with further new music expected before the end of the year.
