Backroad Gee lit up the BAPE store in Central London at an exclusive event on Thursday, to celebrate the launch of his new album ‘Live In The Flesh’. Starting with ‘Wonder’, the final track on the album, he rewarded the crowd by performing a generous selection of tracks across the evening. ‘Up & Down’ was next, followed by what is already the runaway success of the whole album ‘Spin Your Block’, a collaboration with Pa Salieu 100% guaranteed to get even the stiffest of waists winin’.
Continuing the nod to Pa he wrapped it up with ‘My Family’. In between tracks he spoke a little bit about the creation of the album, giving an insight into how writing is a form of therapy when times are tough, how long he’s waited to put out some of the tracks and how he simply can’t pick a favourite because his riddims are his children and he doesn’t want to create ‘trouble in the household’.
Avelino dropped by to show his love and support and afterwards Backroad Gee spent time chatting with people around the room, taking pictures and mingling. Everyone left on a high.
