German power metal titans Masterplan have officially released their brand-new single, “The Call,” complete with an accompanying music video. The sweeping track serves as the latest promotional showcase taken from the band’s highly anticipated comeback studio album, Metalmorphosis, which is set to land on 26th June 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl. Pre-orders are now available.

Marking their first collection of entirely original material since 2013’s Novum Initium, the upcoming record represents a new chapter of creative transformation for the veteran outfit. “Metalmorphosis really captures what this album means to us: a transformation, but still true to the spirit of Masterplan,” guitarist and founding member Roland Grapow explains. “We’ve grown over the years, both as musicians and as people, and you can hear that in the new songs. It’s powerful, melodic, and emotional – classic Masterplan, but with a new energy.”

The new single highlights the progressive sophistication and heavier, more aggressive edge driving the new era of the band – currently completed by vocalist Rick Altzi, bassist Jari Kainulainen, keyboardist Axel Mackenrott, and drummer Kevin Kott. “‘The Call’ is the most complex and controversial song on the album, but also, in our view, one of its most powerful,” Grapow notes. “It feels like a prayer – just written in a modern way. We worked on this track longer than on any other. No matter how chaotic life becomes, we all return to where we came from. And somewhere under all the noise, we should try to find the harmony we were born with – to create, not destroy.”
