American death metallers Malefic Throne, featuring guitarist Gene Palubicki (Angelcorpse, Perdition Temple), vocalist and bassist Steve Tucker (Morbid Angel), and drummer John Longstreth (Origin, Hate Eternal), have premiered their first-ever music video for the track “When our Shadows Align”. Lifted from their debut album, The Conquering Darkness, which is out now on Agonia Records, the visual release showcases their unrelenting sonic assault.

The trio was put together by Palubicki in 2020 after initially meeting at Morrisound Studios in 1997, where both Angelcorpse and Morbid Angel were recording albums side by side. Drummer John Longstreth comments that the band’s roots trace all the way back to those mid-90s hangouts, and notes that it is an amazing feeling to see those old conversations develop into a true celebration of blistering, infernal death metal.

Palubicki stresses that the music produced by Malefic Throne carries the distinct imprint of all three members in every single moment. The unique synthesis of the trio through both writing and delivery gives the band its own special entity, generating an increased dynamic within the traditional death metal framework.

Originally released in November 2025 and recently re-issued on vinyl, The Conquering Darkness was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Menegroth The Thousand Caves with Colin Marston, a studio well known for handling legendary extremity from the likes of Gorguts and Atheist. The striking cover artwork was painted by renowned artist Daniele Valeriani, while Christophe Szpajdel crafted the band’s distinctive logo. The music video is available to watch on YouTube now… or just scroll down.
