Cologne based trio The Twit 1, II, Three bring together hip hop, krautrock, tropicalia, spiritual jazz and ambient sounds on their self-titled debut album via Melting Pot Music.

Led by producer Twit One, a key figure in Cologne’s beat and hip hop scene for over 15 years, the group also features classically trained vibraphonist Maxime von Koblinski and drummer Niklas Schneider of kraut-pop outfit Keshavara. Together, they transform Twit One’s sample driven production style into a rich, organic live sound that moves effortlessly between genres.

Following a limited cassette release in 2024 and performances across Germany and Amsterdam, the trio spent 18 months crafting the album at Cologne’s Satori Studio. Across ten tracks, the project explores a wonderfully unpredictable musical landscape, drawing comparisons to an imaginary meeting between Sun Ra and J Dilla.

Largely instrumental, the album also features guest appearances from British Mauritian musician Reginald Omas Mamode IV and Turt of London jazz-rap collective Summers Sons, adding further depth to a project that celebrates experimentation, musical freedom and the enduring spirit of hip hop.
