After the great reception to their line-up drop earlier this week, Fortress Festival have treated fans to the reveal of their final names for 2027.

German black metallers Ultha will be back for a UK exclusive performance, having already graced the festival in 2024. Fellow Germans Firtan are also playing as a UK exclusive, alongside Perchta – who return to the fest after dropping out in 2025 – and Frostgard.

Lastly, Blood Countess are joining the Friday line-up for the Fortress: First Light opening show, which was announced earlier this week and features Watain and Terrestrial Hospice.

They join an already stacked line-up, consisting of headliners Emperor, as well as names like Gris, Gràb, Yellow Eyes and Dungeontroll, the latter of whom has created a world exclusive set especially for Fortress. Meanwhile, Stormkeep, Silver Knife, Mare and Sulphur Aeon were among the names added to the bill earlier this week, alongside the return of Ninkharsag after a two year hiatus.

“We’ve created the strongest line-up the UK has ever seen for our fifth anniversary of Fortress Festival,” says director Gary Stephenson. “It’s only been a few months since Fortress 2026, and we are already down to our final ticket allocation for next year. It’s given us the space to really create something special for you all for 2027. Thank you to everyone who supports this event!”
