Ozzfest is coming back to both the US and the UK in 2027, the festival has confirmed.

The festival announced the news on social media, several months after Sharon Osbourne said it would be returning, but not elaborating on exactly what capacity. The post asked fans to comment on where else they’d like to see Ozzfest happen, suggesting the door might be open for more dates to be added.

Ozzfest hasn’t taken place in the US since 2018, not long before Ozzy Osbourne’s health began to deteriorate. Sharon said in an interview in March that there were never any plans for it to stop, but things changed when it became clear that Ozzy was not in a fit state to perform. They discussed bringing it back without him, having told him: “Yeah, it’s a brand. It will work without you,” and Ozzy agreed that it would work.

In the same interview, she confirmed that Ozzfest would return to the UK for two nights at Villa Park, Birmingham, where last year’s Back To The Beginning extravaganza took place. This would be the first time Ozzfest is taking place on these shores since 2002.

Previously, Sharon said she wanted to “mix up the genres” for a potential Ozzfest comeback.

“It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people,” she told Billboard in January. “We really started metal festivals in this country. It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”
